Installation
  • For best results, use in a darkened room.
  • Place the unit on a flat, level surface in a dry
    area away from dust and moisture.
  • Do not place the unit in direct sunlight, near
    heaters or heat radiating appliances.
  • Exposure to direct sunlight, smoke, or steam can
    harm internal components.
  • Handle the unit carefully. Dropping or jarring
    can damage internal components.
  • Do not place heavy objects on top of the unit.

Power Supply
  • Handle the power cable carefully and avoid
    excessive bending. A damaged cord can cause
    electric shock or fire.
  • Before disconnecting the power cable, make sure
    the POWER indicator lights in amber (not blinking
    or green).
  • Disconnect the power cable from the power socket
    after each use.

Cleaning
  • Disconnect the power cable from unit.
  • Clean the outer cabinet of the unit with a soft
    cloth slightly dampened with water only. Never
    use strong or abrasive cleansers.
  • Use a blower or lens paper to clean the lens, and
    be careful not to scratch or mar the lens.
  • Clean the ventilation slots and speaker grills on
    the unit periodically using a vacuum cleaner.
    Dust accumulations will cause the unit to
    overheat and malfunction.
  • Use only a soft brush attachment with the vacuum
    cleaner, not a hard attachment tool such as the
    crevice tool, to prevent damage to the unit.
  • You are responsible for cleaning the unit while
    in your possession and prior to returning the
    unit to the Media Center.

Lamp Replacement
  • Lamps will require replacement after 1000 hours
    of use.
  • Lamp should be replaced immediately when the
    STATUS indicator comes on.
  • Continued use while the STATUS indicator is on
    will result in damage to the unit.

Fire and Shock Precautions
  • Make sure there is at least 3 inches of
    ventilation space above and around the unit.
  • Prevent foreign objects such as gem clips and
    bits of paper from falling into the unit.
  • Do not attempt to retrieve any foreign objects
    from inside the unit.
  • Do not insert any metal objects such as a wire or
    screwdriver into the unit.
  • If something should fall into the unit,
    immediately disconnect the power cable from and
    return the unit to the Media Specialist. Only
    authorized PLUS service technicians may service
    the unit.
  • Do not place any liquids on top of the unit.
  • Do not look into the lens while the unit is on.
    Serious damage to your eyes could result .

Transportation
  • When carrying the unit around, please carry the
    unit in its carrying case.
  • To protect the lens from scratches, always shut
    the sliding lens cap.
  • Do not subject the unit to strong mechanical
    shock (suddenly applied force or abrupt change in
    motion).

Connecting Equipment
  • Up to two pieces of equipment can be connected to
    the unit.
  • You can switch the input source (picture) to
    VIDEO or S-VIDEO when you connect two pieces of
    equipment.
  • You can output the sound of only one source
    through the unit speaker when two components are
    connected.

Adjusting Height
Lift front of the unit to the desired
height. Press the adjuster button on the top
front of unit and the adjuster legs will drop
into place. Release the adjuster button to lock
the adjuster legs in position. Rotate the rear
adjuster button to level the unit.

Focus the Image
  • Use the focus ring to adjust the image focus.

After Use Instructions
  • Press the POWER button of the remote control or
    the POWER button of the main unit for a few
    seconds.
  • The power will turn off and the POWER indicator
    will blink for 1 minute, then the standby status
    will be activated. (The exhaust fan will continue
    to run for awhile for cooling purposes.)
  • Do not unplug the power cord while the indicator
    is blinking.
  • Once the indicator stops blinking, unplug the
    power cord.

Check Out/In Procedures
  • Projectors will be available for check out
    through the Media Center.
  • Teachers must attend in-service and be
    certified prior to checking out a projector.
  • ALWAYS return the unit to the Media Center after
    use....NEVER pass the unit to another
    teacher/classroom without first checking the unit
    in through the Media Center.
  • You are responsible for the care, proper use and
    storage of the unit while it is checked out to
    you.
  • Be prepared, you may receive a spot check while
    the unit is in your possession.
