How to use the Kensington lock
1
Find a secure fixed object such as the table you
plan to work at.

Whilst holding the lock end of the cable, locate
the small slit shaped hole on the left side of
the laptop.

Place the cable around the table leg (for
example) then feed the lock part through the loop.

Insert T-bar into the slit then turn the key to
secure the laptop.
Remember to lock the laptop and remove the key
whenever you leave the laptop on its own. You
maybe held liable for the cost of replacing the
machine and accessories if found negligent in
these matters.

How to Connect to the Wireless Network
1
Make sure the Wireless switch is on at the left
hand side of the laptop

Select the ISS wireless network with the
strongest signal and click Connect

Click on Start gt Internet Explorer
5
Sign on using your ISS username and password gt
click on Log in

Double-click on the wireless icon in the task
bar to open Wireless control panel

Use Wireless whenever you need to use restricted
loan books or study in a quiet area

How to Connect to the Self Service Ethernet
Network

Plug in the cable provided at both ends before
switching on the laptop

Before you start, make sure youve got one of

Ethernet cable

click on Log in
If not, please return to the Loans desk

How to save your work to the Filestore

Whilst connected to the network, click on the
Step 1 icon of the desktop

Again, sign on using your ISS username and
password gt click OK

Sign on using your ISS username and password gt
click on Connect

An Explorer window will display where you can
save your file to my documents under ISS Samba
