This is a page from the hymnal bound with the
Geneva Bible. This was used by the early
Puritans as part of their worship service. This
particular page was printed in 1580 in London.

This is another hymnal page from the same Geneva
Bible. Notice that the actual part set in music
is rather small.

This is a close up of the music section from one
of the previous pictures, also from the hymnal
section bound with a Geneva Bible of 1580. Since
the Puritans were coming to this land in the
early 1600s, they would have been accustomed to
using this, and the Geneva Bible was in fact the
choice of Puritans. The King James version came
along later, 1611.
