Under Occupation

• Israel's unilateral withdrawal from Gaza did not
  end Israel's occupation or control of Palestinian
  lives there, nor significantly lessen daily
  hardships.
• Israel's refusal to fully withdraw from the
  Occupied Territories is the main obstacle to a
  negotiated settlement.Like any other people,
  the Palestinians have the right to resist
  occupation

Casualties

• In 2007, IOF killed 373 (4895) Palestinians in
  the Occupied Territories and in Israel compared
  with 7 Israelis, two of whom were civilians.
• 131 of those killed are civilians.
• Since the beginning of this year The IOF killed
  300, including 50 children, two of whom were
  newborns .

Israeli Holocaust

• Israel's deputy defense minister, Matan Vilnai,
  issued his chilling warning that Palestinians
  faced a "holocaust.
• 112 Palestinian patient died in Gaza strip
  because of medical supplies sortage and refusal
  of passage out of the strip
• Treatment of Palestinians by Israel is comparable
  to the Nazi record of collective atrocity ---
  UN's Human Rights Council
• the ratio of Palestinians to Israelis killed last
  year was 401

The Blockade

• Imposed after Hamas won January 2006 legislative
  elections
• Punishing the entire Gazan population by denying
  them basic human rights is utterly indefensible.
• Water and sewage infrastructure is on the point
  of total collapse
• No running water for 30 of Gazans
• Lack of fuel threatens medical services
• The stoppage in fuel supplies has led to
  paralyzing 50 of the educational sector
• More than 1.1 m Gazans are dependent on food aid.
• 70 of private sector employment was lost
• Hungry, unhealthy communities do not make good

Closure

• Israel shut Rafah crossing to Egypt since 2006 .
• Crossing to Israel (Goods only) are also closed
• Students can not continue their studies abroad
• Creating the biggest open-air prison for 1.4
  million Gazans
• Gaza suffers from 50 unemployment
• Living in Gaza It's like being on death row

Children Under Siege

• Ninety-eight Percent Of Gaza's Children
  Experience Or Witness War Trauma
• 70 percent of Palestinians are now living on 2 a
  day
• 71 percent of children suffered from malnutrition
  
• About 32 of children had some form of anemia
• children under five years mortality figures have
  increased by about 30

Destruction

• Bridges and road are targeted
• Police stations and ministries
• The only power station was bombed leaving most of
  Gaza without electricity
• Homes are destroyed with people in it
• Beaches are shelled
• The only Airport was destroyed

Prisoners and Detainees

• Israel holds more than 9,000 Palestinians in
  custody, including 300 minors.
• Of those, more than 1000 (21 minors) were held in
  administrative detention, without trial

ISRAELS DISENGAGEMENT FROM GAZA

• Effectively, this whole package called the
  Palestinian state, with all that it entails, has
  been removed indefinitely from our agenda Dov

DISENGAGEMENT

• Israel remained in control of Gazas borders,
  airspace, the movement of people and goods and
  the economy.
• 1.4 million Palestinians remained confined to a
  prison-like existence.
• Israel reserved the right to invade Gaza at any
  time.
• Under international law Gaza remains occupied
  territory. Israel continue to have obligations to
  the Palestinians under the Fourth Geneva
  Convention.
• The significance of the disengagement plan is the
  freezing of the peace process.

DISENGAGEMENT

• Gaza settlers were re-located to land inside
  Israel that was expropriated from Palestinian
  Bedouin citizens for the purposes of Jewishonly
  development.
• Israel continues to confiscate more Palestinian
  land and resources in the West Bank
• Israel is intensifying its efforts to
  territorially marginalize the Palestinians in the
  West Bank by expanding settlements and continuing
  to build the Wall. Palestinians are losing homes,
  farms, land and resources. More than 2.5 million
  Palestinians will be confined to a series of
  Bantustans on less than 40 of the West Bank.

The Apartheid Wall

• More than 80 of the Wall is actually set in the
  West Bank
• The Apartheid Wall is 8m high and up to 1,000km
  long. Berlin Wall was a dwarf in comparison, just
  155km long and 3.6m high
• 210,000 Palestinians are barred in enclaves,
• 67 villages are separated from their means of
  livelihood.
• 2,800 acres of Palestinian land were confiscated.
• 83,000 olive trees were uprooted.
• 35,000 meters of water infrastructure were
  destroyed

Apartheid

• The 1973 International Convention on Apartheid
  specifies several acts which are used for
  systematic control and oppression. Amongst these
  are
• Creating ghettos.
• Land confiscation.
• Prohibition of freedom of movement.
• Any means, legal or other, that prevents the
  development of the oppressed group.

Annapolis

• After Annapolis Israel intensified its aggression
  against Gaza
• Israel showed its commitment to Annapolis by
  building more than 2000 housing units across the
  West Bank
• New Settlement in the Jordan valley

Our Taxes

• Despite these blatant violations of international
  law, the US government continues to fund Israel
  to the tune of more than 3 billion tax dollars
  per year
• In addition to Military equipment used to kill
  civilian
