  • If 1 present future.

  • If 2 Past conditional.
  • If I went to the Bahamas, I would never come
    home.
  • If 3 Past perfect with the conditional perfect.
  • If I had won the lottery, I would have bought a
    new car.

When do I use it?
  • Use the present/future combination if you are
    seriously considering something.
  • If I give Mr. Pasley a tamale, he will be happy.
  • Use the past/conditional combination if you are
    dreaming about something.
  • If I gave Mr. Pasley a tamale, he would give me
    an A.
  • Use the past perfect/conditional perfect if you
    are thinking how things could have been different
    in the past.
