Who is Josefina?

• Josefina was a nine year old girl who lived in
  New Mexico in 1824. She lived with her three
  sisters and her Papa. The house that she lived in
  was called a rancho.
• She and her sisters did a lot of chores all day,
  like washing clothes in the river, and working in
  the rancho. They worked really hard to help their
  father after her mama died.

  impatient.

  sensible.

  Mexico.

  occupied by a number of Pueblo Indians.

  between Mexico and the U.S.A, were like some of
  the USA states were part of Mexico, like New
  Mexico and Texas.
