  precede. View the images and then discuss the
  following questions/issues.
• View the images in this slide show. Ask if there
  are other ways to group or categorize the images
  than the way they are presented? How? Why?
• What relationship is portrayed most often in the
  images? Loving? Respectful? Disrespectful?
  Harmful?
• How many cultures were included? Do Mother/Child
  relationship vary from one culture to another?
  How?
• What is your relationship with your Mother or a
  Mother figure that you are close to?
• What relationship and culture would you like to
  portray?
• Discuss the range of stylistic choices. List
  them.
• Assign one or have students choose which style
  best coordinates with their intentions.
• Have students create a work of art using
  Mother/Child imagery. Critique. Post.
