PRESENTACIÓNEl Centro de Transferencia
Tecnológica (CTT), la Dirección Regional
Metropolitana de Vialidad, del Ministerio de
Obras Públicas, (MOP), y el Instituto Forestal
(INFOR), están organizando el Congreso
Internacional El Uso de la Madera en el Quehacer
Vial.Este congreso, que se efectuará en
Santiago de Chile entre los días 9 y 11 de
Octubre del año 2002, tiene por objeto revisar el
desarrollo existente en Chile y el mundo de
productos, estructuras, construcciones y otras
aplicaciones de la madera asociadas a las obras
de vialidad.OBJETIVOSe pretende a través de
este evento generar una instancia de desarrollo
que incremente el uso y calidad de la madera,
originando productos de mayor valor, con un
mejor aprovechamiento de los recursos forestales
y un enriquecimiento de la infraestructura vial.

INVITACIÓNEl seminario está dirigido a
personas e instituciones de los sectores público
y privado, relacionadas con la producción de
madera, la preservación y el procesamiento de
ésta, y la planificación, diseño, ejecución y
conservación de obras viales, que estén
interesadas en el desarrollo de nuevas
aplicaciones de la madera en productos asociados
con estas obras.El seminario contará con la
participación de destacados especialistas en el
área de las obras viales las estructuras en
madera y aplicaciones asociadas a la
infraestructura vial, provenientes de distintos
países que cuentan con avances, experiencias e
investigaciones sobre el tema.Se invita también
a participantes, de Chile y el extranjero, con
experiencias en el área, a presentar trabajos
voluntarios que con seguridad enriquecerán el
desarrollo del congreso.

PRESENTATIONThe Technology Transfer Center
(CTT), and the Regional Road Directorate of
Metropolitan Region of the Chilean Ministry of
Public Works, and the Chilean Forestry Institute
(INFOR), are organizing the International Seminar
Use of Wood in Road Works, to be held in Santiago
de Chile in October 9th to 11th,
2002.OBJECTIVESThe objective of this Seminar
is to review the up to date development, about
products, structures, construction and other wood
applications related to road works in Chile and
other countries. Also, we are trying to
generate a development opportunity to increase
wood quality in order to create a higher value
products, a better forest resources utilization
and a road infrastructure improvement.

INVITATIONThe seminar is focussed to people
and institutions from the public and private
sectors, related to wood production, wood
preservation and wood processing, and also
planning, design, construction and maintenance of
road and to people interested in the development
of new wood applications and products for road
works. The seminar will have remarkable
keynoters on the areas of road works, wood
structures and wood applications to roads
infrastructure, from different countries with
experience and research on those topics.
Participants from Chile and abroad, with
experience on the area, are welcome to present
voluntary papers that will enhance the seminar.
