The MW 810 Gives You Choices
  • Expansion Board Options
  • Versatile CPU Expansion Board Options
  • Comm Video
  • Serial USB
  • ALPR

14
MW810 Automatic License Plate Recognition (ALPR)
Expansion Board Solution
  • Integrated ALPR solution
  • MW810 as single in-car computer serving as MDT
    and ALPR processor.
  • Integrate up to 4 low-profile digital ALPR
    cameras directly into MW810
  • Preprocessing features that will reduce CPU
utilization and increase OCR accuracy allows the
MW810 with more computational capacity for other
    applications.
  • Smaller In-Car Footprint
  • Saves vehicle space consumption and power and
provides a significantly cost effective solution
since separate ALPR processor is a real-estate
hog in the patrol car trunk
  • Solution Value
  • MW810 with 4 digital cameras is
  • 25 less expensive than the current 4 analog
    camera SupeRex solution
  • 40 less expensive to equip a car with MW810 as
single in-car computer serving as MDT and ALPR
    processor.

MW810 System Monitoring and Management
Capabilities
MW 810 operating temperature -30C to 70C (-22F
to 158F)
  • Motorola CPU and Display utilize advanced power
    and thermal management algorithms
  • Several unique, patented design features such as
    active and passive cooling systems
  • MW Manager monitors temperature of all critical
system components, analyzes data, and feeds
    algorithms
  • Algorithms include protection mechanisms and
optimization techniques to prevent damage at
    extremes
  • MWs have automated graceful shutdown procedures
when system exceeds pre-defined power and thermal
    limits

17
MW810 Requires Minimal Maintenance compared to a
Laptop
  • MW810 features unique configurable ignition
sensing allowing the computer to perform an
orderly shutdown after 2 hour timer shuts off.
  • The MW810 requires no batteries most laptop
batteries require yearly replacement at a cost of
150 to 200, in five years its a total of
    800.
  • Laptop battery life is reduced when exposed to
    extended high temps.
  • If present, a laptop battery can act as a
secondary battery to continue operation for a set
time and to perform an orderly suspend mode. If
the laptop battery is not present, or unable to
charge, the unit will simply lose power before an
orderly shut down. This will cause hard drive
    failure and damage over time.
  • Docking Stations are generally outsource
manufactured in most cases they do not offer the
same rugged specs as the laptop and may not last
    as long as needed.
  • Docking stations add cost, add an additional
potential point of failure, and add
    troubleshooting complexity.

Lower Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) And Higher
Reliability

Wider Operating Temperature Range
MW 810 operating temperature -30C to 70C (-22F
to 158F)
  • Competition States
  • Do not leave the (laptop) computer in a high
temperature environment such as in a sun-heated
car, for a long period of time.
  • Leaving the computer in a sun-heated car may
deform the cabinet and/or cause trouble in the
internal parts. Continued use in such a resulting
condition may lead to short-circuiting or
insulation defects, etc. which may in turn lead
to a fire or electric shocks.
  • Recharging will not commence if internal
temperature of the battery pack is outside of the
    allowable temperature range (0 C to 50 C)
    (32F to 122 F).
  • Recharging takes longer than usual when the
temperature is 10 C (50 F) or below. If the
temperature is low, the operating time is
shortened. Only use the computer within the
    allowable temperature range.

Manufacturer
35
Wider Operating Temperature Range
  • Place the computer on a flat stable surface. Do
not place the computer upright or turn it over.
If the computer is exposed to an extremely strong
    impact, it may become inoperable.
  • Even within the above temperature/humidity
ranges, using for a long time in an extreme
environment will result in the product
deterioration and will shorten the product life.
  • Do not place the computer in the following
areas, otherwise the computer may be damaged...
    Near electronic equipment.
  • Image distortion or noise may occur in extremely
high or low temperature. As the computer can
become hot during operation, keep it away from
items that are sensitive to heat.
