  • The Public Service Commissions SOPS reports are
    a series of high level annual oversight reports
    providing an overview on the performance of the
    Public Service.
  • Performance is assessed against the 9
    Constitutional values and principles of public
    administration
  • The reports are based on the oversight work of
    the PSC, but also draw on other research.
  • Each edition is also based on a specific theme,
    and the theme for the current edition is The
    State of Readiness of the Public Service for 2010
    Beyond

  • Improvement of Responsiveness , Efficiency
  • Coverage need to be increased
  • Effectiveness (quality, and long the impact of
    OSD on EMS improvement)
  • EMS as an indicator of performance
  • Consider impact of long term OSD i.t.o. training,
    recruiting of professionals, and service quality
    (PSC to investigate this further)
  • Communication around emergency services to be
    prioritized
