Existing locator types

• IPv4 and IPv6 addresses
• Used both for HIP and ESP traffic
• Rendezvous records in DNS

Splitting HIP and ESP locators

• Rendezvous separates control and data paths
• Some rendezvous servers do not forward ESP
  packets but only HIP packets
• Proposal add type to locators
• Locator for both HIP and ESP packets
• Locator for only HIP packets

• Allows different IPs and/or ports
