To Change the background color of the slide, choose Format / Background, which will bring up the following dialog box:

Choose Fill Effects. This will bring up another
dialog box
Choose the color and / or style, then click OK.
Now will have a background with the color you
want.

To insert WordArt, choose Insert / Pictures /
WordArt. It will open a dialog box like this
Now, click on one of the boxes, then click OK
In this dialog box, type the text you want to
appear with the special effect and click OK.
This is how it will appear on your slide.

To apply a different presentation design to the
slide, go to Format / Apply Design
Select the design you like and click Apply
Now the slide will appear as the design you
picked.
