  • Saber is followed by que when it is just one
clause in a sentence that will have another
    subject and verb.

    aquí.
  • Saber is often used with lo to say that someone

The Personal a
  • When a person is mentioned in a sentence, but is
not the subject of the sentence, the personal a
    comes before the person.
  • Ex. Los gatos le gustan a Miguel.
  • Ex. La clase nos interesa a nosotros.
  • For this reason, conocer is often followed by a.
  • Yo conozco a Isabel.
  • Mario conoce a la señora.

Conocer and direct object pronouns
Conocer is often used with direct object
pronouns. I know him. ? Yo lo conozco. He knows
me. ? Él me conoce.
9
Conocer and places
  • Conocer is also used to talk about places that
    you have been.
  • When used this way, it is usually in the present
tense. There is no direct equivalent in English.
  • Example
  • Yo conozco Texas.
  • Conozco México.
