What are the 4 basic needs of plants?
  • Light
  • Water
  • Air
  • Soil (Nutrients)

Plant Needs Vocabulary-
  • Carbon Dioxide- a gas that is breathed out by
    animals.
  • Nutrients- are substances, such as minerals, that
    all living things need to grow.
  • Photosynthesis- the process through which a plant
    makes its own food.

Plant Adaptations-
  • What adaptations do some plants have that allow
    them to live in an environment that doesnt meet
    their basic needs?
  • Some plants have active traps (Venus Fly Trap),
    Vines have special stems that cling to things,
    cacti can store their own water.

  • Stamen- the part of a plant that makes pollen
  • Pistil- collects pollen

    environment in order to survive. For example,
    whales need cooler temperatures and plentiful
    amounts of fish to eat.
  • A. Identify a type of animal that needs a certain
