Program Overview

• Portuguese Pre-Term Intensive Course
• The program offers students the opportunity to
  learn Portuguese or continue their study of
  Portuguese in an intensive language course while
  immersed in the language and culture.

• Classes
• All students take 60-90 hours of Portuguese
  language classes in one of 5 different levels.

Credit Transfer Information

• The courses in this program have been
  pre-approved for credit by the Faculty of Arts.
• It is the responsibility of the student to speak
  with their faculty advisor about credit transfer.
• Credit transfer is done by the Faculty and is not
  guaranteed.

Accommodation

• Accommodation is arranged in a homestay.
• Each student has a private room in a family home.
  Students have use of the kitchen and laundry
  facilities.
• Most families live near the university, about 15
  minutes by city bus.

• Cost to PUC Rio 860.00 USD (tuition)

  (Orientation/activity fee-charged upon arrival)

Application Process

• Attend one of the mandatory group advising
  sessions for Summer Abroad in France.
• Submit completed application to Education Abroad
  Program by March 16th, 2008.
• If you are selected to participate in program you
  will then be required to complete the application
  to PUC Rio.

Application Requirements

• GPA requirements
• 2.7 current
• 2.5 cumulative
• If you are in the Faculty of Science you must
  have completed 15 of course work at the time of
  application.
