Planning Property Acquisitions
  • Elementary I (Anthem Park)
  • Property acquisition has been closed. School is
    scheduled to open in August 07.
  • Annexation into City of St. Cloud pending.
  • Elementary J (Harmony)
  • Closing for site acquisition is completed.
  • Comprehensive Development Plan Application has
    been submitted to Osceola County for Approval.
  • 3. Elementary K (Flora Ridge)
  • Ownership of school site to be transferred from
    EFBD to SDOC after construction of school.
  • Elementary L (Poinciana)
  • Contract with Avatar Properties for acquisition
    of the school site pending.
  • Staff working to determine scope and budget for
    adjacent intersection improvements required by
    Osceola County.
  • Comprehensive Development Plan Application has
    been submitted to Osceola County for Approval.
  • Middle CC (Westside DRI)
  • Developer will convey the property to the SDOC
    through their EFBD in July 2007. Assessments
    will be used to fund the site acquisition at no
    cost to SDOC.
  • Site Due Diligence is completed.

Planning Developments of Regional Impact (DRI)
  • Lake Toho DRIs includes Anthem Park, Westlake
    Cove, Mariners Cove, Edgewater, Bella Tara,
    Friars Cove, and Green Island.
  • Projects consists of approx. 38,000 residential
    units.
  • Anticipated need for an additional 9 elementary,
    3 middle, and 3 high schools.
  • Development order language regarding schools has
    been finalized.
  • Staff meeting regularly with Lake Toho Assoc.
    consultants to discuss school siting and timing
    of residential development and school
    construction.
  • Tranquility DRI located north of Southport Rd
    east of Pleasant Hill.
  • Project consists of 1,800 mixed residential
    units.
  • Identified need and requested property for 2
    future elementary schools.
  • 3. Sundance DRI located east of Poinciana
    north of PHS.
  • Project consists of up to 1,500 mixed residential
    units.
  • Identified need and requested property within
    proposed development for future middle school.
  • 4. Centerlake DRI located northwest of Nova Rd.
    east of Narcoossee.
  • Project consists of 6,600 mixed residential
    units.
  • Identified need for an elementary, middle, and
    high school in the area. Staff working with
    developer representatives to secure property for
    future school site(s) within development.

  • Rolling Oaks DRI located west of Formosa
    Gardens Blvd. north of Funie Steed Rd.
  • Project consists of 1,800 multi-family
    residential units.
  • Identified need for an elementary and middle
    school in the area. Staff is working with
    developer to secure property within development
    boundary for one of future schools.
  • Stoneybrook South DRI located west of Champions
    Gate DRI.
  • Developer agreed to donate property for future
    elementary school site within development as
    recorded in their approved, project development
    order.
  • Staff working with developer to finalize site
    acquisition and determine timing for development
    and school construction.
  • Westside DRI located along Westside Blvd.
  • Developer had dedicated an elementary school site
    as recorded in their approved, development order.
  • Staff working with developer to finalize site
    acquisition for future Middle School CC
    project.
