The EMU Slice Test

configurations, and self-triggering on cosmics

EMU Equipment (I)
  • 18 chambers means
  • 18 TMBs and 18 DMBs
  • at least 2 peripheral crates
  • 2 x CCB, MPC, VME backplane, VME controller
  • 3 stations means
  • at least 3 peripheral crates
  • for the (very) near future we can live with one
    crate hosting stations 2 and 3
  • besides, we dont have 18 DMBs and TMBs, yet!
  • 18 chambers also means
  • services (gas LV HV) for 18 chambers
  • needs some planning coordination

  • In the end, EMU Slice Test should not care on
    what chambers are to be used
  • well, initially maybe limit ourselves to the
    lower sectors

Whats next ? (II)

  • Whenever, whatever newer hardware comes available
    (vme controller, backplane, etc.) OUT WITH THE
    OLD, IN WITH THE NEW!
  • Whenever something works, REPEAT IT preferably
    somewhere else.
