2What does the Diploma mean for schools
colleges?
- Diplomas are for students of all abilities and
aspirations who like to learn in a practical way. - Diplomas combine elements of academic subjects
and practical skills in a way that reflects
modern industry practice and the demands of
degree courses. - Students may be based at their own school, but
they will have the chance to do some of their
learning in other schools, colleges and the
work-place. - Training will be given to teachers and
non-teaching staff

9How much time will the Diploma take up each week?
- The Principal Learning, Additional/Specialist
Learning and Project will take up 3 half days of
the week 10 hrs in total.
10Where will students study?
- Students from every school in Barnsley can apply
to study a Diploma, even if their school is not
delivering it themselves. - Delivery may take place at their home school,
another school, the Diploma Centre and/or
College.

- For Construction and SHD Diploma lines
- Joint Resources include ICT suites and a
classroom - Construction resources include the following
workshops - Workshop 1 various crafts - joinery, masonry,
decoration - Workshop 2 electrical, mechanical, heating
ventilation service - SHD resources include the following simulation
rooms/skills labs - Ward containing two beds with lockers, chairs,
screens, etc plus a Nurses station - Early Years area with cots baby changing
