  • Mottes Baileys were the first castles that
    were made of wood and they stood on a mound
    called a motte. The outer enclosure called a
    bailey.

  • A full suit is made up of a breast plate, back
    plate, arm coverings, leg coverings, and a helmet.

  • The breast plate is made to cover the torso.
  • It was to protect the chest from arrows, flails,

  • The back plate was to protect the back from
    harmful objects that could kill the solider.

    Calligraphy was the only way of writing back in
    the medieval times. Only a few people could
    write. Youd have to you use homemade ink! Be
    glad that we have pens now!

Definition For Trebuchet
  • A siege machine used for hurling rocks against a
    castles walls. Sometimes dead animals were also
    thrown over castle walls to spread disease!
  • They are great survival weapons also.

  • A trebuchet can be built out of anything as long
    as you are creative in some kind of way!

The Nova Trebuchet
  • People build these objects to destroy other
    castles, and to be a great survival weapon. And
    these weapons would even work in water! But.not

  • These were built back in the 1400s. The people
    there must have been very creative and smart to
    be able to build these towering machines that can
    even throw a 250 pound rock 600 feet or 200 yards!

Wooden Trebuchet
  • This trebuchet is made out of wood and has
    gigantic wheels! The wheels give it more speed
    because when it throws it tilts and can easily
    fall over. The wheels let it move so it can throw
    farther. The people were very talented to be able
    to build these machines.

  • Even though this trebuchet is the smallest of
    them all, this is were they start. They go from
    small to medium to humongous. And then they turn
    into battle machines. Eventually somebody dies in
    two seconds and finally a whole army dies. I sure
