• Air Mass- A huge body of air that has similar
  temperature, humidity and air pressure throughout
  it.

• The type of air mass is determined by
  temperature, and the location of where it formed.
• Temperature

• Polar Cold
• Location
• Maritime Forms over water (wet)
• Continental Forms over land (dry)

• The area where air masses meet.

• Fronts are usually associated with weather in the
  middle latitudes where there are both warm and
  cold masses
• There are no fronts in the tropics.
