- 1980s to early 1990s - Nuffield Department of
Clinical Medicine Data Centre - Provided services primarily to NDM Mini,
RS6000/AIX - Involved with initial networking of JR to replace
Gandalf connections - 1991? Units collaborate at RI to install
ethernet - 1995 IMSU established and Director appointed
Data Centre absorbed by IMSU - to date
- gradual increase and transfer of staff to IMSU
- collaboration with IT staff in other units
- introduction of new services
- With Divisionalisation came IMS IMSU
