Title: Unified testbed GRID (Research RHIO) environment for:

1
Unified testbed GRID (Research RHIO) environment
for
  1. Large IQ (image quantification) test dataset
(image archive) distributed and analyzed using
    different IQ algorithms
  2. Data elements, ontologies support 1) IQ and IQ
comparison information, 2) human annotation, 3)
    clinical, 4) image acquisition/reconstruction
    information (Eliot dataset)
  3. Interoperation of IQ efforts ACRIN, OSU, COG,
OSU, QARC, ACRIN, PBTC other (e.g NTROI).
    Common data management, interoperability,
workflow (some sort of RSNA demo cooperative
    groups)
  4. Workshop to bring together key imaging clinical
    trial groups
  5. OSU/RSNA
  6. Imaging support for clinical trials
  7. NTROI demonstration of interoperability between
MIRC and caGrid (John implementation using
SciPort). For demo, can map MIRC data definitions
    to caGrid metadata

2
Unified testbed GRID (Research RHIO) environment
for
  • Reference implementation of plugins/workflow for
    WG23 standards. Development environment for
    multivendor interoperable imaging plugins.
Research community can build professional grade
applications that can run either in client server
mode or on multi vendor grid environment. Will
get data from multi-vendor clinical trials.
  • 1,2 and 3 in 2006 InfoRad RSNA exhibit area and
    would be ongoing projects
  • Additional ongoing project
  • Support, integrate and interoperate with internal
NCI image management and analysis framework

3
Near Term Architecture-related projects
  • Interoperability with MIRC (and other non caGrid
    environments)
  • Support for multiple clinical trial/clinical
    testbeds (MIRC/caGRID interoperability)
  • Workflow
  • Integrate industry components into caGrid --
    leverage Siemens development environment to
    integrate toolkits
  • Use to specify workflows that integrate caGrid
    components
  • Use to generate components that run on
    proprietary workstations (DICOM WG23 dependence)
  • Liason to WG23 (Give to Standards group), layer
    on VTK/ITK

Critical Path
4
Near Term Architecture-related projects
  • Metadata integration Integration of DICOM, IHE
    data models into caDSR, GME
  • Optimized support for image objects
  • Technology evalution GridPacs, data replication
    management service, STORM, BIRN
  • Cooperative group workshop
  • Spatial data management
  • Information from different CAD algorithms, human
annotations pertaining to same patient, comparing
different studies on same patient, comparing same
    anatomic locations between patients
  • High level specification and compilation of image
    acquisition protocols)
  • Push clinical protocol (pulse sequences) to
    imaging
  • Grid image analysis components to support IQ

Essential architectural element Could hardwire
for demo
Major impact long term project
