6The Draft Resource consists of
- 100 page document with
- Introductory section rationale, overall aims
objectives - Lesson plans for each unit with clear objectives,
linkages to the syllabus, information resources,
useful questions, suggestions for methodologies,
activities exercises - Range of visual materials including maps,
charts, photographs, models/diagrams a range of
Irish case studies to explore key issues

- Understanding development as a dynamic
- process relevant to all local areas
- Understanding sustainable development challenges
for rural communities in the context of
urbanisation processes - Exploring Integrated Area Planning (IAP) as a
participative and enabling process for local
decision making - Completing a sustainability web for ones own
community - Reviewing positive case studies of rural and
urban development in Ireland - The overall outcome for students might hopefully
be one of understanding the key development
