FOLIATED METAMORPHIC ROCK

• When heated and pressed
• Minerals can flatten and line up in parallel
  bands.
• Rock looks striped

NON-FOLIATED METAMORPHIC ROCK

• When heated and pressed
• Minerals can grow larger, but not line up and
  flatten.
• Rock looks glittery or crystal-like
