I evaluated oxidant stress in the lung after burn
and smoke inhalation injury. Oxidant production,
pro-inflammatory protein production and nuclear
damage were increased as were cell death and
mortality. These were reduced by a hydrogen
sulfide compound which could be used to control
burn and smoke trauma.
