• Hardware being configured in Provo
• Upgrade to server room power panel
• Hardware installed at ALS/RSA week of 9 April 07
• Ordering new cisco network equipment
• Data from CARL moved into Unicorn in May

• Defaults for Public and Schools (specials)
• School (specials) will not work in Public Libs
• Please, please, PLEASE use defaults
• Will set up individual user types per library,
  but it really messes up how items circulate
  consortially!
• Schools (specials) must use defaults

• Circulation Rules are based on 4 things
• Library
• User Profile
• Item Type
• Circulation Rule
• Rules input on circ map by library
• Each library has at least 1 line per item type
• Every User type that circs different new line
• Over 12,500 lines currently

• Note only 1 library, User Profile, Item type or
  circ rule per line if not set to ALL

• So what makes up each circ rule?
• Loan Period (days or hours)
• Billing Structure ( / day, max fee, rent)
• Renew Limit ( 0 Unlimited)
• Max Charges (0 Unlimited) allowed for item
• Overdue Grace Period (in days)
• Any change makes a new rule
• Need your input to get these right

• Lists total of items by Location Media code

• Look over the Default User Profiles.xls
• Select those users you want to use
• Note any changes you might have to the defaults
• Fill in the user names you chose next to your
  data in the spreadsheet (as seen later)

• Find Unicorn Library code in the file Library
  Names in Unicorn.xls
• Find you code on the RSA Data Migration Chart.xls
  under the column Unicorn Library Name could
  be anywhere from 1 to 200 lines of data for you.
  (red text)
• Look at default item and location movement
  spreadsheets to see if this will work for you
• If not, select alternative Item types and
  Location codes (blue text)

• Fill in the Default Loan Rule section for each
  item type you have (only do once per item type)
• Fill out exceptions to your default load rules by
  User Type and Item Type (in light blue headed
  section).
• If your DVDs dont loan to JUV users, follow
  line 4
• If a max charge or other limit differs by use,
  use line 5 for example.
• Just fill in the items that changed from the
  default user type.
