1 READ ME!
- You are about to see an example PowerPoint
presentation designed by the ICT dept at
Swanshurst which will give you an idea of what
you presentation should look like, see slides 3 -
8 - You need to
- develop your own presentation based upon the
animal you have chosen - develop 6 slides about your animal
- the additional slides that you see, on slides 10
- 18 are all pieces of evidence that you need to
collect upon the way - When you have finished you 6 slides about you
animal you need to print them off. Spell-check
them and ask some one you can trust to make
POSITIVE and NEGATIVE comments about your
presentation - then make the changes they suggest
and print another copy.
Essential Info
2 Go for it!
- Read through the entire presentation
- then begin to collect the resources you need for
your presentation by surfing the net and adding
any useful sites to FAVOURITES - go to the library and get one or two books about
your animal - then draw out a rough plan about what is going to
be on each of your slides - then begin using PowerPoint to draft your first
version of your presentation. DONT forget what
would your audience like?
3Save the Tiger (version II)
4So little time left
Will have to spell-check to eliminate all
spelling errors like this one!
- Tigers truly are magnificent animals their beauty
is unsurpassed in the animal kindom - WE CANNOT SIMPLY LET THESE CREATURES BECOME
EXTINCT - Time is running out or these animals
- There are only 7500 left in the world
- We must act NOW!
5No reason to kill
- The biggest threat to tigers is man
- Poaching for traditional medicines
- Loss of Habitat due to mining and deforestation
- Persecution as tigers are killed for revenge
- None of these activities are essential to the
lives of men
6The Tiger is worth saving
- Act now and write to your member for parliament
asking them to save the tiger NOW!
The graph shows which students thought the tiger
was worth saving
7Donate to charity
Your presentation must contain a graph. Ask a
question to the whole of the class and find out
what they think
- Donate a small amount of money to charity so they
can run projects which save the tiger from
certain extinction.
Graph to show that students would be prepared to
give money to charities which saved the tiger.

a secure place Next design a feedback
questionnaire like the one on the next slide to
ask for comments about your work Then make the
changes, spell check and read through so that
there are absolutely NO MISTAIKES AND EVERYTHING
MAKES SENSE!

16Why would a young person like my presentation?
- I think a young person would like my
- presentation because...
- It is colourful
- Has a large font and is easy to read
- There is not too much text
- It has lots of pictures of tigers
- It has clear information about tigers
- It tells young people what they can do to help
the tiger - It is persuasive
- I have improved my presentation,and I have
completed all the - improvements which my survey results have
suggested
17You need to show the examiner that you dont
always have to ask the teacher for help
Being an Independent Computer User
During the course of my project I used the help
menu on Microsoft PowerPoint Firstly I needed to
know how to draw a chart on PowerPoint I did
this by clicking on Help then clicking on
Contents and Index Typing in the keyword -
Chart Clicking on chart and clicking on adding a
chart to my presentation - display Create a
chart This helped me organise my results of my
class survey into a bar chart
