good-practice to reduce the rate of biodiversity
loss and the value of biodiversity for
    sustainable entrepreneurial activity

6
An Example The Swiss project
  • Identifying Swiss companies and assist them in
    mainstreaming biodiversity into their business
    operations.
  • Developing a frame of principles that can be
applied by any Swiss company and would integrate
them in larger network of companies working on
    business and biodiversity.
  • Developing background material on business and
biodiversity will be developed in collaboration
with the companies and other stakeholders
  • Launching a consultation process by working with
a selected number of Swiss companies to sign the
Countdown 2010 Declaration and become part of a
larger global and Pan-European network on
business and biodiversity which will build on the
    outcomes of the Lisbon Conference.
  • Outreach and linking the initiative to relevant
    processes.
  • Profile Countdown 2010 Business Commitments at
CBD COP9 and within the framework of PEBLDS. This
activity would not only initiate but sustain a
process within Switzerland on business and
biodiversity and connecting this to the larger
    Pan-European context.
