- Standard 18 Professional growth plans are
developed and reviewed annually to support and
assist the teacher to remain current on technical
information in the program area.

3Standard 18 Professional Growth
- 705 KAR 4231. General Program Standards for
Secondary Career and Technical Programs - Section 10. Instructional and administrative
personnel shall meet the certification
requirements as specified by the Education
Professional Standards Board in 704 KAR Chapter
20. - KRS 156.095 (KDE)
- Section 5. In planning the use of the (4) days
of professional development under KRS 158.070,
school councils and districts shall . . .
4Standard 18 Professional Growth
- 780 KAR 3140 OCTE Certification and Professional
Development Requirements - Section 8. All instructors shall complete at
least twenty-five (25) clock hours upgrade
training annually.

- Teaching Certificate (Teaching certificate for
teachers who have completed their first year of
teaching emergency certificate for an interim
teacher six-month waiver letter or Statement of
Eligibility for a first-year teacher.) - Certificates of Activities
- Include certificates, transcripts, NTI
certificate, internship and/or grade reports for
the current school year. - Document at least 25-hours of professional
development for the current school year.

- Professional Growth Plan
- Should be an agenda item at program advisory
committee meetings (standard 15). - Should align with program improvement plan
(standard 19). - Should include teacher professional development,
such as training provided by feeder schools, KDE,
OCTE, and universities. - Will be included n the required 25-hours of
professional development for the current year.

- Include teacher technical development, such as
staff exchange, technical conferences, technical
update seminars, industry certification training,
and other program-related training - Align the PGP with the PIP in Standard 19.

8Standard 18 Assignments and Resources
- Develop a professional growth plan in alignment
with the program improvement plan (standard 19).
9General Program Assessment Guidelines
- All documentation should be dated and reflect the
current evaluation period. - Documentation for all standards should be
included in the program documentation not in
the principals, counselors, or advisors
office. - When the program at one location has multiple
teachers, prepare only one set of documentation
for the program. Programs housed at satellite
locations are considered separate programs. - When a lengthy document is presented, mark the
page(s) specific to the assessed program.

- Two dated samples should be provided for such
items as portfolios, open response, student
safety tests, and student evaluations of the
course. - All documentation must identify the program to
receive credit for the standard. - The program website provides detailed
instructions and examples for all standards. - Items marked with an asterisk () may be
documented in a program folder.
