  • Many people believe life is precious and has a
    value in itself.
  • Life should not to be taken and a person should
    be treated with respect.
  • Christians believe
  • God created humans at creation.
  • God gives life to each person.
  • People have a body and a soul.
  • Life is sacred or holy.
  • God has a plan and a purpose for each person.

Abortion
  • Procured Abortion when a foetus is removed and
    pregnancy is ended deliberately.
  • Abortion Act 1967
  • An abortion is allowed up to 24 weeks with the
    consent of 2 doctors if
  • There is risk to the mental or physical health of
    the mother.
  • If other children or the family would suffer.
  • If there is a serious risk of abnormality or
    disability in the unborn child.

  • Most abortions are carried out early in
    pregnancy.
  • Some people may be more concerned about later
    abortions because the foetus is more developed.
  • People disagree about when a foetus becomes a
    person or when life begins. Many people may
    agree with abortion for serious reasons such as
    risk to health, rape and disability but with
    disagree if the abortion was for practical
    reasons or convenience.

    permitted to withdraw treatment on medical
    advice. It is against the law to assist someone
    to commit suicide.
  • Voluntary Euthanasia
  • When a person asks another person to assist them
    in committing suicide. Some people think
    voluntary euthanasia should be legal in this
    country.
