ARTES Programme Organisation
  • ARTES (Advanced Research in Telecommunications
    Systems) Programme constitutes the backbone of
    the Telecommunications activities of ESA.
  • ARTES is a highly flexible Programme that allows
    the implementation of RD activities with
    different degrees of technical and commercial
    maturity
  • ARTES is structured into Programme Lines, which
    cover the main Strategic Areas of Satellite
    Communications, and ARTES Elements, which
    represent the legal and financial frames of the
    Programme

    long-term programme

  • Evaluation period 5 weeks

  • The ITTs contain firm SOW and technical
    specifications
  • Steps leading to a contract
  • ITT -gt Proposal with letter of support from

    Contract awarded to winner

Start-up Initiative
  • The Start-up Initiative is a special measure to
    assist companies in getting their first contract
    with ESA
  • A company can get only one contract within this
    initiative
  • Proposals are submitted to ESA in response to a
    special ITT, which leaves the product to be
    defined by the bidder
  • Cost is limited to about 300kEURO
