  • In December of 2001, the Board of Directors of
    the New York State Association of Land Surveyors
    (NYSAPLS) requested that we, the Delaware-Hudson
    Land Surveyors Association (DHLSA), an affiliate
    regional of NYSAPLS, undertake the task of
    setting a commemorative monument denoting the
    center of population for the State of New York,
    based upon the Census of 2000.
  • In January 2002, the DHLSA accepted this project
    and created a committee to run the project. The
    committee consisted of the following DHLSA
    members
  • Paul Sevik, Jr. Chair
  • John Bezuyen, L.S.
  • Joshua Bush, L.S.
  • Anthony Celentano
  • Margaret Hillriegel, L.S.
  • Michael Lacey, L.S.
  • John Loch, L.S., P.E.
  • Norman Peachey, L.S.
  • William Youngblood, Jr., L.S.
