Student Lab Assistant Duties
The primary responsibility of a student lab
assistant is to help the user with the general
applications provided in the labs.

Student Lab Assistant Duties
  • Sign Attendance Sheet.
  • Stay visible at all times.
  • Inspect the lab every 20 minutes.
  • Perform Headcounts every hour.
  • Retrieve and sort printouts every few minutes.

Opening Lab Assistant
  • Arrive 15 minutes prior to the lab opening.
  • Ensure that computers are ready to be used.
  • Ensure printers are ready to be used.

Closing Lab Assistant
  • Notify users that the lab will be closing.
  • Turn off computers and printers.
  • Close / Lock the doors and windows

Weekend Lab Assistants

  • Page Client Support if major problems arise

  • One Timesheet every 2 weeks.
  • If you worked from the 1st to the 15th
  • Fill out the timesheet on the 12th.
  • If you worked from the 16th to the end of the
    month
  • Fill out the timesheet on the 26th.

Toner Recycling
  • If printouts are gray, try shaking the toner.
  • If printouts are still unclear, replace the
    toner.
  • After replacing the toner, put the used one in
    the toner box and mark the box used.
  • Print out a printer configuration sheet.
  • Take used toner and printer configuration sheet
    to B-107 and take new toner back to the lab.
