Basic competencies

• All community providers possess basic
  competencies to serve people with mental health
  and developmental disabilities challenges
• Enhanced training and sharing of expertise
• Increased ability to provide services/ decreased
  need for specialized settings

Technical Assistance

• Additional training and technical assistance to
  serve consumers with more complex needs
• Cooperative inter-agency approach to provide
  technical assistance
• Capacity to provide technical assistance quickly
  to solve problems and keep people in community
  settings

Enriched services

• Localities have systems to push in enriched
  services
• Maintain successful community outcomes
• Focus on short-term resources to address specific
  needs
• OMH/OMRDD focus on identifying and deploying
  enriched services

Specialized residential supports

• Regional specialized residential services
• Serve people in crisis
• Short-term residential to avoid hospitalization
