• Based on the Phase II investigations, both the
  Scott and Singer sites were determined eligible
  for listing in the National Register of Historic
  Places.

Goals

• A series of GIS maps will be created to show how
  landforms within the Aughwick watershed changed
  through time.
• The maps will show where sites are likely to
  occur and, conversely, where they are not likely
  to occur.
• The maps will also provide information on the
  depth of Holocene (potential site-bearing) soils
  at representative locations throughout the
  watershed.

Goals

• The results will be valuable for interpreting
  archaeological data within the region.
• We hope the study will also be used as a planning
  tool by PennDOT and other agencies.

Goals

• By referring to this study in the early stages
  of project planning, agencies may be able to
• 1) minimize impacts to archaeological sites and
• 2) reduce the cost of Phase I surveys by
  avoiding areas with deep
  Holocene soils.
