What is CREATING ?

• CREATING is a RD project under FP6 / STREP -
  Priority 1.6.2 Sustainable Surface Transport and
  has two general objectives
• To minimize emissions impact of vessels engines
  on human health, environment and atmosphere
• To attain optimal transport performances in
  inland navigation
• CREATING brings together 27 partners from Europe
  and IPA CIFATT is one of them.

• Scientific and technological RD are focused on
  four directions
• Logistics
• Emissions
• Safety
• Efficiency
• CREATING project has some strong features
• European partners with expertise in project
  profile
• European partners with remarkable expertise in
  project management
• Good collaboration among partners

Project management engine of project

• There are two level of management in project
• General Project Management accomplished by
  project coordinator
• Work package Management accomplished by WP leader

1. General Project Management

• Project management is a key factor in total
  logistics of project execution.
• Project coordinator settles a pragmatic procedure
  which easily can be understood and used by all
  partners in achieving their tasks.

2. Work package Management

• Management of WP where IPA CIFATT is involved
• Tools adopted to assure a fluent flow of
  information between WP leader and partners
  involved are
• e-mail for communication and documentation flow
• periodical meetings on WP level to assess the
  work stage in WP and the future actions in
  accordance with planned work and time table

Why is remarkable Work package Management ?

• The WP was structured in work chapters
  (milestones) with distinct and detailed
  activities, tasks and subtasks so that cover all
  relevant domains for RD content
• For every distinct task from WP is allocated a
  large space with clear guidance for partners.
• Every work chapter has a common activity to
  collect data, information materials and
  documentation to form a common RD database
• CONCLUSIONS
• WP Management is a strong element in this
  project due to its professionalism
• It represents a good practice for us and
  can be a model for the management of other
  projects

Why IPA CIFATT participates in project ?

• There are some arguments for IPA CIFATT to be
  involved in this project
• To gain experience and knowledge in all stages of
  European projects prepare and submit a
  proposal, management of project and grow up of
  project
• To improve its potential and accelerate its
  integration in European structures from RD area
• To meet partners from Europe and to know the work
  methods from our partners
• To show its capabilities and its availability for
  working in a team

Encountered problems

• Financial and administrative difficulties in easy
  mobility in European countries
• Difficulties in access to Romanian legislation
• RD field are not priority in Romanian policy
• The Romanian programs are too complicated as
  administrative forms

Actual benefits

• Working together with European partners in this
  project, represents for IPA CIFATT a step in
  needed coaching for handle in the future the
  challenges resulted from European integration
• New connections, new framework and working
  strategies, improve and enlarge our professional
  level
• Financial benefits exists in this project but
  they are not the driving element for us to
  participate in project

CONCLUSIONS

• If IPA CIFATT asserts as a serious and competent
  partner became credible and can use this
  partnership as a future reference
• A strong relation with our partners and a good
  work can conduct to other common activities in
  the future
