EMERGING TRENDS AND CONCEPT
  • FUNTIONAL MATERIALS WITH HIGH PERFORMANCE
  • Enhanced bio delivery with mildness and
    affinity to skin
  • NATURAL MATERIALS FOR GOOD HEALTH
  • Natural, Green, Organic
  • Demand for quality, organic, chemical-free
    products
  • Desire for all-natural, non-synthetic,
    eco-friendly products
  • Bajchem was designed to target those suppliers
    aggressively involved in the research,
development of technology based functional active
ingredients to promote to the personal care market

4
GenioCare SERIES Gel Network
  • Lifespan of new cosmetic products is getting
shorter and shorter, and time saving is a key
word for development of cosmetic products
  • Advantages
  • Emulsifier system selection
  • HLB balance adjustment
  • Provide formulations with unique functions and
excellent texture on the basis of gel net work
    structure.

5
FACTOR FOR SUCCESSFUL COSMETICS
  • SKIN TEXTURE

EFFICACY
STABILITY
APPEARANCE FRAGRANCE
6
FUNTIONAL MATERIALS WITH HIGH PERFORMANCE
  • Mixed O/W emulsifying agents for the development
    of Nano emulsions
  • The desired gel network structure is achieved by
an optimum balance and combination of each
component at suitable ratio, which is attributed
    to
  • Ease of formulation
  • high performance
  • and high stability of cosmetic formulations

7
GEL NETWORK STRUCTURE
  • Similar to intercellular lipids structure
  • Barrier function and long-lasting moisturizing
    effect
  • High stability and excellent texture
  • Safe Mild
  • High affinity to skin
  • Self-assemble
  • Thixotropic

8
SELF-ASSEMBLY
  • Ability to self-assemble to maintain its
structure in much diluted system with low
    concentration
  • High emulsifying ability
  • Strong and flexible membranes
  • High dispersing ability
  • Stabilizing ability in low concentration

9
LIQUID CRYSTAL GEL NETWORK IN O/W EMULSIONS
  • Fatty alcohols and other lipophilic surfactants
form liquid crystalline gel network structure in
water in the presence of swelling agent.
  • The swelling agent, such as ionic surfactant,
widen the space between hydrophilic groups of
    lipophilic surfactants above phase transition
    temperature.
  • Water is incorporated into the space, that is
    called lamellar mesophase.
  • Once the mesophase is formed, it become gel
phase below the phase transition temperature.
  • The gel phase is called liquid crystal gel
network structure and shows unique visco-elastic
    behavior in water.
