  • What is DOI LEARN?
  • Its a Learning Management System designed to
    replace the USGS Training Management System
    (TMS).
  • The system is designed to standardize the process
    by which all DOI bureaus manage training and
    development.

  • When Will It Be Available?
  • The USGS is transitioning to DOI LEARN now.
    Initially the system will be used by USGS
    employees to access DOI mandatory classes.
  • IT Security Awareness training will be announced
    very soon.

  • What About The Training Management System (TMS)?
  • All USGS employee training in TMS from June 2000
    to June 2005 has been transferred to DOI LEARN
  • TMS will continue to be used for all requested
    training until notified

DOI LEARNYour Initial Login
  • Please log onto DOI LEARN immediately to
  • Change your password
  • Select your official supervisor
  • Modify your user profile and include whoever else
    might approve training requests
  • Please perform you initial login immediately.

  • DOI LEARN is now Live! After you change your
    password and modify your user profile you may
    want to check out the features of this system.
    Please dont test on the system. Remember its
    live!
  • Now Lets Login at https//doilearn.doi.gov

DOI LEARN
All employees are asked to log onto DOI LEARN to
create a new password and set up user profiles.
The website is https//doilearn.doi.gov On this
initial log-in screen employees must 1. Enter
User Name First initial of first name, first 4
letters of your last name, your birth date, ex.
mhoodMMDDYYYY 2. Enter System Password Note, this
password is case sensitive !ChangeIT! Now click
on Log On

  • Under New User name, type in your lotus short
    name (the first part of your USGS email address)
    example mkhood
  • 2. Add your email address here
  • 3. Type in your supervisors last name (or whom-
    ever you are instructed by your management to
    select) and click Go

1. Click on the down arrow. 2. Click on your
supervisors name, or the name you are directed
to select by your management. Note The name
selected here allows that individual to view and
approve your training requests using this system.

Now input a new password with 8 Characters
minimum 1 Number 1 Special character Note there
is no specific order as long as all criteria
above are met 2. Then Click Log On

This screen outlines Rules of Behavior for DOI
LEARN users. 1. To get to the welcome screen
you must accept the rules of behavior by clicking
I accept at bottom of screen. Note Click yes
to any security alert popups that might occur.

This is the Welcome Screen Click on the
Administration tab to edit your User Profile

Click on My Information

Edit User Profile You do not need to
put anything in the fields Password or
Confirm. You do need to complete these
fields Office Phone/Ext All Mailing
Address Info Complete all fields you can. Note
Your Employee ID info is automatically generated
from the FPPS system.

The Students Supervisors box will show the
person you selected on the initial login
screen. Save this screen. Feel free to click
on the green tabs at the top of your home screen
to begin to familiarize yourself with the
features of DOI LEARN.
