What is Down Syndrome?
Down syndrome is a genetic disorder that results
to physical and mental retardation. This disorder
occurs as a result of extra genetic material. The
physical characteristics of babies with down
syndrome include smaller heads then normal and
that are abnormally shaped. They have a flattened
protruding tongue, upward slanting eyes , short
hands and fingers with a crease in the palm.
