• He was Righteous- Gen 69

• His moral relationship with God
• He was Blameless among the people of his time
• Perfect
• Not sinless, difference between sin and abiding
  in sin
• Moral integrity among the people

• This is how he manifested his righteousness and
  integrity
• Imitated the example of Enoch, his
  great-grandfather- Gen 524
• Involved
• Calling on the name of the Lord (Gen 426)
• Offering sacrifices to God (Gen 43-4)

• He did according to all the Lord commanded him

• He was a preacher of righteousness (2 Pet 25)
• Not Only lived a righteous life
• But he also proclaimed the need for
  righteousness
• What about ourselves? Is there the need for us to
  find favor in the eyes of the Lord today?

• Not because we face the threat of a worldwide
  flood
• God promised he would never again destroy the
  world in such a manner- Gen 98-11
• Rainbow is a constant reminder of Gods promise-
  Gen 912-17

• But because we face the promise of the end of the
  world!
• Once destroyed by water, so it shall be destroyed
  by fire when Jesus returns. (2 Peter 33-13)
• Peter says, So then, dear friends, since you are
  looking forward to this, make every effort to be
  found spotless, blameless and at peace with him.
  2 Pet 314
• Just as Noah found favor in the eyes of the
  Lord
• So we need to be found by Him in peace, without
  spot and blameless
• Is this not simply another way of saying we, like
  Noah, need to find favor in the eyes of the Lord?

• We must be Just in His sight
• Good news God sent Christ in order to make us
  just in His sight- Rom 58-9
• This blessing is available to all who demonstrate
  true faith in Jesus- Rom 323-26
• Being justified, we can have peace with God

• We must be perfect in our generation
• That is to be complete, mature, to be everything
  God desires of us.
• Good news- God has provided the necessary tools
  for us to be perfect!
• The blood of Christ, to cleanse our sins- 1 Jn
  17-9
• The Word of God, to guide us to completion- 2 Tim
  316-17
• The strength of the Spirit, to help us in our
  struggles- Eph 316 Rom 813
• The providence of God, who will work with us and
  lead us to victory!- 2 Thess 33l 1 Pet 510

• We must walk with God
• We can no longer was as the rest of the Gentiles
  walk- Eph 417-20
• We must be imitators of God as dearly loved
  children Eph 51
• Walk in love- Eph 52
• Walk as children of light, exposing the sins of
  darkness- Eph 58-11
• Walk as wise, with understanding of what the
  Lords will is- Eph 515-17

• We must do all that the Lord has commanded
• Obeying not just some things but all things-
  Mt 2820
• For in so doing, we demonstrate our faith to be a
  living faith- James 217, 24, 26

How can we find grace in the eyes of the Lord?

• We must be preachers of righteousness
• It is Gods will that wedeclare the praises of
  Him, which include His righteousness- 1 Pet 29
• This can be done most vividly by example, in
  living transformed lives Rom 121-2, Therefore,
  I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to
  offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and
  pleasing to God-- this is your spiritual act of
  worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern
  of this world, but be transformed by the renewing
  of your mind. Then you will be able to test and
  approve what God's will is-- his good, pleasing
  and perfect will.
