Comma-delimited

• A database format in which field values, and
  sometimes field labels or names, are stored in a
  file and separated by commas.

Normalize

• To compare data in parallel records within the
  same field ensuring that it is consistent,
  non-redundant, and efficient.

Field Mapping

• When importing data from another database, field
  mapping is the process of specifying how the
  fields in the receiving file map to the data in
  the imported file.

Match Fields

• When importing data, if records are to be
  compared with the incoming data to ensure that
  items are not duplicated, the fields used to
  check for redundancy are the match fields.

Merge Fields

• In layouts, merged fields are used to incorporate
  field values directly into text units. Data is
  usually protected from modification in those
  layouts.
