Network?
  • CHN is a national bilingual health information
    project, funded by Health Canada, that focuses on
    providing access to web-based information on
    health promotion and disease prevention.

  • Authoritative Canadian health information in both

  • Full-text access to over 10,000 pamphlets, fact
    sheets other resources on health promotion
    disease prevention

Combining Search Terms Using the A to Z Search
  • Search for up to 5 topics at once.
  • Combine terms using the Search Options buttons
  • All the Terms to find 2 or more search terms in
    the same document.
  • Example Osteoporosis Exercise
  • Any of the Terms to find all documents that
    contain even 1 of the search terms entered.

  • Click on the letters of the alphabet to locate
    and select the terms Protein Carbohydrates.
    Both should appear in the green Search Box.
  • Click on the Any of the Terms search option
    button to search for resources on any one of the
    topics listed.
  • Click on the green Search button to find these
    resources.

When to use the Keyword Search Engine
  • The keyword search engine searches CHN document
    subject headings, titles of documents
    annotations that describe their content, to find
    documents that match your search terms.
  • Use the search engine when you cant locate a
    topic in the AtoZ index, or if you want to build
    a more specific search than the AtoZ index will
    allow.

  • 2 or more words in the same document. These words
    do not have to appear right next to each other
    within the text of the documents.
