  • Reuse original containers for waste collection if

  • Used for waste liquid collection
  • Cost effective and reduces waste
  • Use to consolidate solventsacetone, methanol,
    xylene, toluene, etc
  • Great for HPLC collection

HPLC Quick Connect
  • Container hooked up to liquid process unit (HPLC)
  • Stored in SAA secondary containment
  • Red Tag completed
  • When full date red tag, disconnect, store in
    SAA, call for pickup within 3 days
  • New container can be started (per MADEP Bureau of
    Waste Prevention, Satellite Accumulation of
    Hazardous Waste Fact Sheet, September 2005)

Hydrofluoric Acid (HF) Container
  • HF Safety training is needed EHS0130c-A
  • Use original container when applicable or plastic
    containers for collection of waste
  • Calcium gluconate gel provided for labs using HF
    check dates on gel!!

Gas Cylinder Disposal Reminder
  • Gas cylinders should be returned to BOC Gases
    (Ext. 3-4761).
  • Non-returnable lecture bottles should be avoided.
  • Departments / Lab (DLC) groups will be
    financially responsible for the disposal of
    non-returnable cylinders.
