• 54.7 received painkillers before their
  procedure.
• 68.9 either agreed or strongly agreed that their
  procedure was painful.
• At least 50 of these women knew the procedure
  was going to hurt, yet they went ahead with it
  anyway.

• There are long-lasting negative physical side
  effects from an abortion.
• 41.2 of the women surveyed frequently
  experienced heavy bleeding after their abortion.
  Other women didnt experience it frequently or
  experienced only moderate bleeding.

  after their abortion. They experienced one or
  more of the following feelings guilt,
  depression, anger, sorrow, grief, regret,
  remorse, shame, unworthiness, loneliness,
  self-condemnation, confusion, anxiety, and
  unforgiveness of self.

• Fear was a high-ranking feeling.
• 70.2 feared punishment from God.
• 76.9 feared that other people would learn about
  their abortion.
• 56.8 experienced fear for unknown reasons.

• At least half of the women also experienced the
  following flashbacks to the abortion,
  uncontrollable weeping, suicidal feelings, loss
  of self-confidence, loss of dignity, difficulty
  developing and maintaining personal
  relationships, and a general sense of emptiness.

• In fact, 55.3 of the women said their reactions
  were so severe they were unable to function
  normally at home, work, and in personal
  relationships.

• There are more negative post-abortion side
  effects.
• 71.4 of the women became preoccupied with
  thoughts of the child they could have had. They
  couldnt think of anything else.
• Over 50 felt a need to block out and stifle
  their feelings. They needed to force themselves
  to be happy, felt unable to grieve, developed a
  hardened or callused attitude toward life, and
  started losing their temper more easily.

• 47.5 became more violent when they were angry.
• 51.3 reported a dramatic personality change
  after their abortion. 79.4 said it was a change
  for the worse.
• Some of the women turned to alcohol and drugs to
  help them cope with their severe emotional
  distress. 25 became addicted to one or both of
  them.

  their abortion in the first place.
• Only 2.8 still claim they made the right choice.
• 60.9 said that abortion has made their life
  worse, while only 5.9 said that it has improved
  their life.
