- Al-Baqarah (The Cow) 2136
- Recital by Hafiz Adem Soylemez
9- Surah Al-Ahzab (The Confederates) 3339-47
- 39.(The Prophets are those) who convey Gods
Messages and feel great awe of Him and they hold
none but God in awe. God suffices as One Who
reckons and settles the accounts (of His
servants). - 40. O believers, (know) that Mohammad is not the
father of any man among you, but he is the
Messenger of God and the Seal of the Prophets.
God has full knowledge of everything. - 41. O you who believe, remember and mention God
much - 42. And glorify Him in the morning and in the
evening.
10- 43. He it is Who (in return for your remembrance
of Him) bestows His special blessings upon you,
with His angels (praying and asking His
forgiveness for you), that He may lead you out of
(all kinds of intellectual, spiritual, social,
economic, and political) darkness into light. He
is All-Compassionate toward the believers. - 44. On the Day when they meet Him, their greeting
(from those who welcome them will be), Peace.
And He has prepared for them an honourable,
generous reward. - 45. O (most illustrious) Prophet! We have surely
sent you (with a mission of Messengership) as a
witness and as a bearer of glad tidings and a
warner.
11- Surah Al-Anbiya (The Prophets) 21106-107
- 106. Surely in this (Quran) there is the
explanation (of every truth necessary) for Gods
servants devoted to worshipping Him. - 107. We have not sent you (O Mohammad) but as an
unequalled mercy for all the worlds. - Surah Al-Baqarah (The Cow) 2136
- 136. (O Muslims! You) declare We have believed
in God and that which has been sent down to us,
and that which was sent down to Abraham, Ishmael,
Isaac, Jacob, and the Prophets who were raised in
the tribes, and that which was given to all other
Prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction
between any of them (in believing), and we are
Muslims (submitted to Him wholly and
exclusively).

15Sufi Music
- Australian Sufi Music Group
Please be quiet during the music and, as a sign
of respect, please do not applaud. Thank you
16Sufi Music
- Silence please during playing of Sufi Music.
- Sufi music functions as an aid to meditation on
the manifestations and actions of God. As stated
by Rumi - Music is the nutrition of the souls of the
servants of the Lord, Since, in music, there is
the hope of reaching God.
Therefore, music, when combined with meditation
and contemplation, is seen as being an important
way to reaching God.
17Reading from Holy Bible
- Book of the Prophet Isaiah, 5213 - 5312.The
Song of the Suffering Servant - Read by Lorraine Lipson
18Isaiah 5213 5312
- 13 See, my servant shall prosper he shall be
exalted and lifted up, and shall be very high. - 14 Just as there were many who were astonished at
himso marred was his appearance, beyond human
semblance, and his form beyond that of mortals15
so he shall startle many nations kings shall
shut their mouths because of him for that which
had not been told them they shall see, and that
which they had not heard they shall contemplate. - 531 Who has believed what we have heard? And to
whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?
19Isaiah 5213 5312
- 2 For he grew up before him like a young plant,
and like a root out of dry ground he had no form
or majesty that we should look at him, nothing in
his appearance that we should desire him. - 3 He was despised and rejected by others a man
of suffering and acquainted with infirmity and
as one from whom others hide their faces he was
despised, and we held him of no account. - 4 Surely he has borne our infirmities and carried
our diseases yet we accounted him stricken,
struck down by God, and afflicted. - 5 But he was wounded for our transgressions,
crushed for our iniquities upon him was the
punishment that made us whole, and by his bruises
we are healed
20Isaiah 5213 5312
- 6 All we like sheep have gone astray we have all
turned to our own way, and the Lord has laid on
him the iniquity of us all. - 7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he
did not open his mouth like a lamb that is led
to the slaughter, and like a sheep that before
its shearers is silent, so he did not open his
mouth. - 8 By a perversion of justice he was taken away.
- Who could have imagined his future? For he was
cut off from the land of the living, stricken for
the transgression of my people. - 9 They made his grave with the wicked and his
tomb with the rich, although he had done no
violence, and there was no deceit in his mouth. - 10 Yet it was the will of the Lord to crush him
with pain.
21Isaiah 5213 5312
- When you make his life an offering for sin, he
shall see his offspring, and shall prolong his
days through him the will of the Lord shall
prosper. - 11 Out of his anguish he shall see light he
shall find satisfaction through his knowledge.
The righteous one, my servant, shall make many
righteous, and he shall bear their iniquities. - 12 Therefore I will allot him a portion with the
great, and he shall divide the spoil with the
strong because he poured out himself to death,
and was numbered with the transgressors yet he
bore the sin of many, and made intercession for
the transgressors.

Thursday. - It recalls Jesus commandment given on that night
to love one another as I have loved you. - The Antiphon will be sung by David first, and
then those who wish to do so may join in singing
it together and after each verse.
The translation of the antiphon is Where there
is charity and love, God is there.

one. Let us rejoice and be pleased in Him. Let us
fear, and let us love the living God. And may we
love each other with a sincere heart. )

dividamur, caveamus. - Cessent iurgia maligna, cessent lites.Et in
medio nostri sit Christus Deus.

body,Beware, lest we be divided in mind.Let

28Stay with Me
- This modern chant is sung in a style that has
been made popular by the mixed Protestant and
Catholic monastic community at Taize in France. - It is based on Jesus words to his disciples in
the Garden of Gethsemane. - John and David will sing the chant through once
and then those who wish to do so are invited to
continue singing with John as David plays the
recorder accompaniment. - This chant is intended to be sung a number of
times as a meditative song.
Stay with me, remain here with me. Watch and
pray. Watch and pray.
