• In Warm Water Fish
• Can take only around a day to hatch
• In Cold Water Fish
• Can take several months to hatch

Female / Male Incubation

• Different types of fish incubate eggs in
  different manners
• Some fish fertilize the egg in the female and the
  female carries it to term
• Other types of fish fertilize the egg and have
  the male carry it to term

• Many fish lay eggs very similar to birds
• The eggs themselves look a lot like bird eggs
• Some fish eggs are cylindrical and hook to other
  eggs

• Fish choose what is the best way to reproduce
• They try to maximize survival of their fish in
  their natural habitat
• Some fish die after they lay eggs or spawn
