  • The direct object receives the action of the verb.

Here are some examples of direct objects in
English
  • Maria calls her mother everyday.
  • (Maria calls her everyday.)
  • Juan washes the dishes after he eats dinner.
  • (Juan washes them after he eats dinner.)
  • The student does the homework every night.
  • (The student does it every night.)
  • The teachers answer the questions.
  • (The teachers answer them.)

Things to consider.
  • Step One locate the direct object, look for the
    verb
  • Step Two ask yourself, is the noun singular or
    plural, masculine or feminine
  • Step Three rewrite the sentence remembering to
    place the direct object before the main verb or
    attached to an infinitive
