    causing claudication

  • Goals for PAD Patients
  • Improved ability to walk
  • Reduce risks associated with atherosclerosis
  • Increase pain tolerance in the calf
  • Many PAD clients also have CAD
  • GXT is recommended before beginning an exercise
    program

Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)
  • Refers to airway resistance
  • Occurs primarily in smokers
  • Consisting of bronchitis, emphysema, or both
