Ag4V2O6F2 (SVOF) is a new cathode material for
implantable cardiac devices (ICDs). It can
sustain a high voltage, actually increased by the
presence of fluoride, owing to the greater
density of silver in the material.
Li/Ag displacement reaction from 0 x 4
with no V5 reduction (ESR) No shift in
diffraction peak positions, which indicates a
biphasic reaction for silver
displacement SVOF framework is continually
collapsing and becomes XRD amorphous at x 3.5
  • Octahedral VO2O2/2F23- and tetrahedral
VO2O2/2- units connect to form infinite chains.
Ag cations are located between the chains.
