CONCLUSIONS
  1. Barnett rocks record the progressive drowning of
    the southern Laurussian paleocontinent during the
    Mississippian
  2. The Barnett is a slope/basin succession of
    hemipelagic mudrocks that formed in a stratified
    ocean along the continental margin.
  3. Forestburg carbonate-rich intervals represent
    flux of platform detritus in to the basin.
  4. Updip carbonate successions document at least one
    major sea level fall event.

KEY ISSUES FOR FUTURE STUDY
  1. Define timing of initial platform drowning.
  2. Characterize details of Barnett sedimentology.
  3. Define source and geometry of Forestburg.
  4. Determine the extent and possible significance of
    sea- level fall events.
  5. Refine the biostratigraphic framework
  6. Integrate all data into regional model.
